As each of you is working hard to maximize your score using the rubric for the Final Investigation Report, please remember the discussion we had in class regarding the following:
1. Data Chart: the data chart needs at least one introduction sentence. To receive full points, the data chart must clearly be explained and labeled.
2. Data Graph: the data graph must be appropriately labeled.
3. Data Analysis: For 6th grade, there must be at least one sentence explaining the trends in your data. For 7th and 8th grade, there must be at least three sentences, as stated in the rubric.
4. Accuracy: to ensure the accuracy of your data you made sure to follow your procedure and keep the controlled variables controlled.
5. Reliability: to ensure reliability multiple trials should have been conducted. If you did not conduct multiple trials, then you need to mention this in the error analysis section. Points will be taken off both the Reliability and Error Sections if you do not mention multiple trials.
6. Typos: one point will be taken off for each typo.
7. Only hard copies of the report will be accepted.
8. All instructions, pictures, diagrams, data charts, and graphs must be included in the final report. IF they are not included, you will not get credit. Attaching information to the report is fine but you must indicate in the report that the information is attached.
9. The deadline for the Final Investigation Report is Monday January 19th. Bonus points will be given to those who have turned in their assignments early. Two points will be taken off for each day that the report is late.
10. The information from your Final Investigation Report will be used to make your Tri-Fold, which is due January 26th. More information regarding the tri-fold will be given next week.
Good Luck!
